There is also the whole Tatsumi and Mine shipping thing going on. I also liked the fact that Tatsumi is somehow finally contributing! This time instead of watching his friends get killed right in front of him, he manages to save someone. I like it how he vowed to be useful from now onwards and not just stand there as his comrades die one by one. I’m glad to see Tatsumi growing and maturing. I mean, that guy finally did something useful after a long 19 episodes. Great character development with Tatsumi this week. And indeed, he arrived just in time to save Mine from Seryu’s self destruction. Then I remembered Tatsumi was having a fight somewhere else and looks like he would be done in time to rescue Mine. The fight between Seryu and Mine was pretty enjoyable surprisingly. Towards the end I actually thought Mine would die. Akame ga kill fights are just only slightly better than the shitty levels of Fairy Tail if I were to be brutally honest. The level of detail is often lacking and sad. More often than not, the battles end without much creativity. I would have to say that there is no intellect behind the writing of the fights. But fights in Akame ga kill are somehow always lacking. I would have to say the fight was animated pretty well. That’s merely like some kind of plot device gun. I mean what kind of ability is that? Becoming stronger when you’re in a pinch. Her Imperial arms is boring as fuck as well. Out of all the girls in Night Raid she comes across as the most useless whiny annoying bitch of them all. I hated Mine because she was an uninteresting tsundere wannabe. If you had to kill off someone in the Mine Vs Seryu fight I would have honestly killed Mine without hesitation. And her doggie weapon was one of the more fun ones in this series. Seryu has one of the most fascinating imperial arms in this series in my opinion. It’s really a pity she has to die. ![]() ![]() And even towards her final moments she still stuck firmly by her ideals and hasn’t found out that she was fighting on the wrong side all along. Sounds familiar? Yeah she reminds me a lot of Kira from Death Note minus the intellect. Delusional psychopath that talks about justice all day long. She is actually one of the more intriguing characters. When I found out that it was Seryu versus Mine I was like, okay, now someone is guaranteed to die.Įverybody hates Seryu because of her psychopathic ways and her constant preaching of twisted justice. Don’t ask me why but I somehow had a feeling. I dived into this episode expecting someone to die. I think we all know people die easily in Akame ga kill. I think it’s the best we’ve seen from this series in a long long time. Honestly this week’s episode was pretty good.
